Some good news for fans of the original Melrose Place: Heather Locklear will be reprising her role as Amanda Woodward on the new series this November 17th. It was pretty much inevitable that Amanda would be back at some point, given that she was the signature character of the first show, but I'm glad that it's going to be sooner rather than later.
I thought the second episode of the show, which aired last week, was better than the pilot, and not just because we got to meet the show's gay character, Caleb, played by the yummy Victor Webster. We didn't see very much of him, mind you, but maybe that will change in upcoming episodes.
For now, I'm just excited to see Heather Locklear back in Amanda's designer pumps! It will be interesting to see how she fits in with the current cast.

Melrose's Gay Character Has a Face (And so much more!)
I just read some very interesting news on AfterElton. You may recall that I wrote awhile back about the gay character who'll be featured on the updated version of Melrose Place this fall. Now, the character has a portrayer- the incredibly hot Victor Webster:
I first became familiar with Victor as an actor several years ago when he starred on Days of Our Lives all too briefly as Nicholas Alamain. The character's main purpose turned out to be to seduce older woman Kate Roberts, which lead to some steamy scenes I remember very well!
Victor has shown up all over the place since then, in the short lived cult hit series Mutant X, in guest starring roles on many television shows, and in a handful of film roles. Most recently, he was in the CBS murder mystery series Harper's Island, but his character didn't survive past episode three.
I'm excited that Melrose Place cast someone as hot as Victor to play their gay character but the question is, will they use him, or will he be another Matt Fielding?
Here are a few things that AfterElton learned about Victor's character on the show:
Hmmm. It sounds like this character could just as easily fade quickly into the background (hard to do when you're as hot as Victor Webster, though!) or become a full fledged character on the show. I guess we'll have to wait and see!
While hot guys alone can't get me to watch a terrible show (if they could, I'd be following Gossip Girl just for Ed Westwick!), there are certainly going to be enough of them on this show for me to give it a real chance to win me over.

Here are a few things that AfterElton learned about Victor's character on the show:
- His name is Caleb Brewer and we meet him in Episode 2
- He is Ella Simms' boss at WPK
- He smokes cigars, likes the Los Angeles Lakers, collects sports memorabilia, drinks Scotch, likes guys and is not afraid to admit it.
- He is an archetype that hasn't been explored as much on television and the show is bringing that into the fold
- So far he's in episodes two, three, five, six and appears somewhat frequently
- We see some of his personal life, but Slavkin wouldn't divulge any details
- He's a very masculine guy.
